Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of The Quest ("the platform"). By connecting a wallet, posting a mission, or claiming a bounty, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

1. What The Quest Is

The Quest is a bounty board. Posters publish missions with an ADA reward attached. Hunters claim those missions, do the work, and submit proof. When a poster approves a submission, the reward is released to the hunter's Cardano wallet and the completion is recorded on-chain.

The Quest is a venue for that exchange. We are not a party to the agreement between a poster and a hunter, not an employer, and not an escrow agent in any regulated sense.

2. Accounts and Wallets

You access The Quest by connecting a Cardano wallet and signing a message to prove you control it. You are solely responsible for your wallet, its keys, and its seed phrase. We cannot recover your wallet, reverse a signature, or restore access if you lose your keys.

You must not connect a wallet you do not control, operate multiple accounts to manipulate rewards or rankings, or misrepresent who you are.

3. Posting a Mission

When you post a mission you deposit the full bounty in ADA up front. That deposit is verified on-chain before the mission goes live and before any payout is released.

By posting a mission you agree that:

• The reward, the deadline, and the required proof are stated accurately and in good faith.
• You will review submissions promptly and judge them against the mission as written — not against expectations you never published.
• You will not post work that is illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, or that is designed to deceive, spam, or attack any person or system.

Once you approve a submission, the payout is final. On-chain transactions cannot be reversed by us or by anyone else.

4. Claiming a Mission

Claiming a mission does not guarantee payment. Payment follows an approved submission.

By claiming a mission you agree that:

• The work you submit is yours, or you have the right to submit it.
• Your proof is honest. Fabricated, plagiarised, or AI-passed-off-as-original proof is grounds for rejection and removal.
• You accept the mission as written, including its deadline.

5. Rewards, Refunds and Deadlines

Rewards are paid in ADA to the wallet linked to your account. XP is awarded alongside and contributes to your public rank.

If a mission's deadline passes with slots unfilled, the ADA for those unfilled slots is refunded to the poster. Missions that fill all slots close as completed.

Network fees, congestion, and confirmation times are properties of the Cardano blockchain and outside our control. We do not guarantee the speed of a transaction, and we do not guarantee the market value of ADA at any moment.

6. Disputes

Posters approve or reject submissions. If a poster rejects your submission, they should say why. Where a dispute cannot be resolved between the two parties, contact us via Discord. We may mediate at our discretion, but we do not guarantee an outcome and we cannot claw back a payout that has already settled on-chain.

7. What Is Permanent

Completed missions are recorded on the Cardano blockchain. That record is public, permanent, and outside our control. It cannot be edited or deleted — not by you, and not by us. Consider this carefully before you complete a mission.

8. Prohibited Use

You may not use The Quest to launder funds, evade sanctions, finance illegal activity, or circumvent the law of any jurisdiction that applies to you. You may not attack, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or to other users' accounts.

We may suspend or remove any account that breaches these terms.

9. No Warranty

The Quest is provided "as is". We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Blockchain software, wallet software, and the underlying network carry inherent risk, and you accept that risk when you use them.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Quest and its operators are not liable for lost profits, lost ADA, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform, including loss caused by a counterparty's conduct, a failed transaction, or your own loss of wallet access.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
